According to the United Nations, each kiln system is about $550,000. Experience in China has indicated that the new kiln technology results in stronger, higher quality and lowercost bricks. The current global climate treaty, known as the Kyoto Protocol, allows developed nations and organizations to buy credits for pollution through a program known as the Clean Development Mechanism, or CDM.
